Programs: Morningstar Montessori offers several programs, morning, afternoon, all day, and before/after school care: Before School Care - 7:00am to 8:30am Morning Session - 8:30am to 11:30am Lunch - 11:30am to 12:30pm Afternoon Session - 12:30pm to 3:30pm After School Care - 3:30pm to 6:00pm [A snack is provided for the morning and afternoon sessions.] Other programs offered: Art German Spanish French Exercise Music (singing) Depending on the weather, the children will get to spend the last twenty to thirty minutes outside. Admission: Morningstar Montessori is open to children 2 1/2 to 6 years of age. Each child is considered individually and admission depends largely on the child's emotional readiness, as determined by the Directress. Tuition Policy: The tuition is based on a yearly fee that is divided into ten monthly payments, paid one month in advance. A Typical Day: The child arrives at school, removing his or her outwear, putting them away. [The mastery of everyday such skills is characteristic of Montessori trained children. They delight in their ability to do such things.] The children then proceed into the classroom to possibly learn some new material or see something brought in by another child. They then explore their work quietly at tables or on carpeted floor mats, in which they might: shine shoes wash chairs or other practical life exercises Some may watch the work of another child without any attempt to touch or disturb the work. Older children may pause to help a younger child grasp a difficult concept.
